Marcus Boateng
Studio Producer
Marcus Boateng runs the operational side of the studio from the London office. He's the producer behind the scenes of every multi-stream engagement, the person who keeps print runs, photography shoots, and platform launches landing on the same date — and he does it without ever raising his voice.
About Marcus
Marcus Boateng started his career producing music videos and commercial shoots in London, where the gap between what a director wanted and what a budget allowed was a daily problem to solve. After eight years on set he moved into design production, joining a Shoreditch branding studio as their first dedicated producer and quickly making himself indispensable.
He joined Fireflies in 2024 as our first European hire, anchoring the London office and giving the team a single point of accountability for cross-studio engagements. Marcus owns project plans, vendor relationships, photographer bookings, and the kind of week-to-week schedule choreography that lets designers do their actual job. He has a particular talent for negotiating with print houses and a deep Rolodex of the right paper merchants, binderies, and finishing specialists across the UK and Europe.
At the studio Marcus also leads our sustainability practice, working with clients to specify materials, vendors, and production processes that don't quietly undercut the brand they're meant to support. Several of the studio's most ambitious packaging projects are possible only because Marcus knew which mill to call.
Marcus was born in Accra, raised between Ghana and London, and now lives in De Beauvoir Town with his husband and a cat named Wendell. He runs six miles along the Regent's Canal most mornings and cooks for the studio's monthly community dinners, which the team will tell you are the best part of working in the London office.
